Resistances.-In a heater of the type described in Specifications 19,333/08 and 13,827/09, the wire D' between sections of the enclosing quartz tube E is straightened so as to prevent overheating. Several tubes E are placed in an outer quartz tube C closed at one end, which is inserted in a closely fitting metal or quartz tube extending into a cooking-vessel. The tube C has a cap G, and may be protected by a guard H, such as a wire cage.
