Abstract
3693. Curtis, D. J., and Beamand, J. Feb. 15. Lubricating. - The guide - ropes of mine cages are lubricated by passing through funnelshaped receptacles containing lubricant secured to the guide on the cage. The receptacle is made in two parts B, C, formed integrally with the two parts D, E of the liner of the guide - socket, which are fastened by a strap F to a member L of the cage. The receptacle is closed by a two-part inclined cover N secured by screws R engaging lugs Q. Hooked snugs on the cover may engage under inclined ears at the angles of the receptacle.
