Abstract

Valve-dischage water-waste preventers; seataction water-waste preventers.-The cistern 11 is suspended from a rocking trough 15 containing a ball 18, the valve being fixed to a bracket 14. When the seat is depressed against the action of a spring 3, a lever 2 hinged at 2<1> moves a rod 4 to free a pawl 5, which then falls. When the seat rises, the rod 4 engages the pawl, turns a valve rod 6 about the pivot 7, and opens the supply valve 9; the cistern is then filled by the pipe 10. When the weight of the cistern overcomes the resistance of the ball 18 and a movable counterweight 17, it descends and is thereupon discharged. The cistern outlet moves telescopically in the flushpipe 12.
