Angular bending; bending-formers.-A pipe or the like is bent round a rotary former in a continuous manner by pressing it against the former bv a rail or pressure member which travels with the pipe, but in a rectilinear direction, the travel being given either directly to the tube or by rotation of the former. The former b, which is mounted on a pivot c between top and bottom plates d, a which take the pressure, and which has removable sectional profile rings r to suit the shape and diameter of the pipe, is rotated by spur gear g from a toothed wheel driven at high speed by worm gearing. The end of the tube is clamped to the former by a member operated by an eccentric k, and it is pressed by a rectilinearly-moving profile bar or rail n against the former. The bar abuts against pressure rollers u, which are mounted in plates p on a pivot q which is placed in one of a number of holes s in the plates, and holes t in the plate d to suit the size of pipe.
