Abstract

28,967. Bruce, Peebles, & Co., and Klaps, E. Dec. 11. Drills.-A tool for undercutting d r i l l e d holes consists of a spindle 1 carrying a cutter lever 2<a> pivoted in a slot 3. The cutter is expanded by sliding a sleeve 9 longitudinally on the spindle, a groove 8 in the sleeve engaging one end 7 of the cutter lever. The expansion of the cutter is limited by the depth of the groove. The cutter is retracted bv a spring 10. To obviate wear on the lever, the sleeve may be feathered to the spindle so as to rotate with the lever, in which case a loose sleeve is provided to depress the operating- sleeve.
