Reaping, mowing, and harvesting machines. - Cutting - apparatus for machines for cutting grain, weeds, scrub, &c. comprises a finger-bar with special fingers, knives pivoted on the finger-bar, and means for oscillating the knives about their pivots. The fingers B<1>, B<2> are of two kinds s arranged alternately on the finger-bar A. Both kinds have flat upper surfaces, and the main fingers B<2> have concave undercut cutting-edges. The knives C have convex cutting- edges formed by bevelling their upper faces. They are pivoted over the intermediate fingers B<1>, and are adjustably connected to a reciprocating bar D by pivot pins and rearwardly projecting arms. In a modification, teeth on the bar D engage with teeth on the heels of the knives.
