Abstract

27,126. Wetter, J., [Riedel Akt.-Ges., J. D.]. Nov. 22. Alkali carbonates.-Artificial zeolites obtained by fusing together aluminium silicates and alkali carbonates, with the addition of quarts, if necessary, are lixiviated with hot water to extract soluble silicates, and are then treated with ammonium carbonate solution, forming ammonium zeolites and alkali carbonate solution, which is boiled down. The ammonium zeolites are converted into alkali zeolites for re-use, by washing with solutions of sulphates, nitrates, chlorides, or other salts of potassium or sodium.
