Mouthpieces; telephones, mounting and supporting. -A telephone mouthpiece is provided with an indiarubber cup 2 to fit over the mouth during speak ing, and passages are provided in the mouthpiece or behind the microphone for the discharge of the speaker's breath. In the hand-set shown in Fig. 1 the microphone 4 is carried in the cylinder 1 which supports the cup 2. The sound waves pass through the tubes 7 and are broken up by the fan 10 before being discharged. A disinfectant cap 15 containing, say, wool saturated with eucalyptus oil, is provided. When the device is applied to an ordinary mouthpiece 23, Fig. 4, the cup 2 is attached to one end of the mouthpiece, and a cylinder 1 with passages 7 supports the mouthpiece on the microphone. The discharging- passages may take the form of a tube containing perforated disks, or of spiral passages in the mouthpiece itself.
