Telephones.-In receivers of the kind in which the received currents in a coil f actuate the diaphragm d through a lever b, the apparatus is constructed so that when in position the diaphragm-and-lever system has an initial mechanical stress which may produce a slight distortion or springing of the diaphragm. The fulcrum a of the lever may be adjustable to give the required stress.
