Abstract

[Cognate Application, 12,247/10.] Rolling - machines. - For making cottage loaves, dough portions are rolled into an appropriate shape between two endless bands 2, 5, deflected by longitudinal ribs 9. In the form shown, the ribs are hinged at 10 to boards 4, 7, and are adjustable by screws 11. When making the bread, the ribs 9 are restricted so as to lie flush with the boards 4, 7. Modifications are described in which the lower belt 2 is replaced by an ordinary conveyer, and the shaping is effected by means of a longitudinal rib, which may be grooved to accommodate an endless travelling cord, or a series of shaped rollers. Fig. 9 shows an apparatus for moulding tin loaves, comprising two bands 22, 23, moving in the same direction at different speeds. Specification 8328/99 is referred to.
