[Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Liquating; dry processes of extracting aluminium and aluminium alloys.-Aluminium is obtained by maintaining the carbide at a temperature somewhat above the melting-point of aluminium, and under mechanical pressure, for a long time. Carbide freshly produced in an electric furnace may, in cooling, be kept at this temperature. Aluminium alloys result if other metals, or reduction mixtures, are present.
