Abstract

23,183. Hewitt, W. W. Nov. 9, 1908. Collapsible casks are made from parallel thin slats or staves connected by flexible bands &c. To keep them in shape they are provided with one or more internal hoops, ends, &c. which in some cases may be loose, being held in position only by the tension of the sheet forming the sides. The invention is shown applied to a basket made from slats the shape being preserved in this instance by the solid bottom q and the internal hoops o. External hoops p are also provided.
