Abstract

Gins.-The two roller shafts of double-roller Macarthy gin, or the roller and feeder-board shafts of a single - roller Macarthy gin, are driven from the driving - axle, or from the countershaft when one is used, by a single endless chain or band 15, Figs. 1 and 7. Jockeywheels 11, arranged in adjustable bearings, are provided for giving the necessary arc of gearing on the wheels, and for tightening the chain or band.
