Sept. 27 By lubricants other than grease or oil; filtering.-A turbine for driving boiler-tube cleaners &c. is lubricated by the water or other actuating medium. A feed-head 4, screwed into the casing 1 has an extension 12 formed with a bushed recess 13 to receive the rear end of the driving- shaft 3. The water &c. supplied to the chamber 6 passes through ports 32 in a plug 31, a screen 33 or filtering-medium, a nozzle 26, and an opening 28 in a bearing-plate 29, and enters a longitudinal bore 20 in the shaft 3. Radial passages 21, 22 conduct the water to grooves 23, 24 in the bearings 14, 15. The nozzle 26 has a conical bore 27 the narrow end of which is smaller than each of the ports 32, so that the supply is not diminished if one of the ports is obstructed.
