Abstract
21,958. Musgrave, F. W. Sept. 27. Delivery apparatus.-In order to allow the delivery of envelopes, cards, &c. in neat piles with straight edges, from high-speed printing-machines, the front end of the delivery trough is flared at the sides and bottom, so as to guide the cards &c. from the flyer f. One side a of the trough is preferably adjustable, and provision is preferably made for adjusting the trough vertically and horizontally as shown, and for tilting it. Non-return spring catches h prevent the delivered cards from falling out, and a follower, consisting of a sliding weight, or a bar t rolling in inclined slots u, is provided. The bottom of the trough is formed with strips g, between which the flyer fingers can pass to deliver the envelopes &c. beyond the spring catches h. These are preferably secured to bars sliding in vertical slots at the end of the trough, so as to be readily removable.
