Abstract

21,916. Phalp, J. Sept. 25. Pedestals and stands.-Relates to acetylene lamps for automobiles, cycles, &c., of the kind in which the generating-chamber is readily detachable from the body of the lamp, and consists in providing an independent acetylene-generator, which is easily charged or emptied, and is secured by a spring- pressed lever. The generator may act as a stand or pedestal, the burner w being received by notches c, Fig. 1, in which a cap 11 can be inserted when the apparatus is not in use. The whole lamp may also be arranged to stand on its base. The dome 4 enclosing the spring holder for the reservoir is, for this purpose, made capable of being reversed as shown in Fig. 3.
