Abstract

19,836. Wilshire, A. Aug. 30. Balancing on axle.-A seat for a sulky or like vehicle is adjusted for balancing by means of a handwheel - operated shaft 20 carrying pinions 22 meshing with racks 23 secured to the base of the seat, which slides on sleeves 12 traversing side bars 13. The shaft 20 is mounted in bearings 19 on the bars 13, one set of bearings having a notched extension 27, adapted to be engaged for locking by a trigger 29 pivoted to a slotted boss 31 on the shaft. The trigger 29 is lifted to release the shaft by slightly rotating a sleeve 34, which has an internal cam surface in engagement with the other end of the trigger.
