Abstract

19,682. Wiegard, J. Aug. 27. Ploughs. - Relates to a turn-wrest or reversihle plough provided with a fore - carriage mounted on two wheels. The plough bodies b are secured to a beam r, the end c of which works in a long bearing d on the fore-carriage. The beam r is locked by a spring bolt 5, which engages one or other of two sockets attached to rods sliding in slots 10 on a plate 9. The bolt 5 is operated by a system of links and levers from a bell-crank lever z pivoted to a handle w freely mounted on the end of the beam r. The lever z also actuates, by means of a link, a catch v which engages the upper plough body when the ploughs are locked in position. A cross-piece h, Fig. 3, is mounted on a vertical bolt e secured to the bottom of the bearing d. The piece h is swivelled on an axle i, supported in arms n projecting from a sleeve l, which is keyed to the axle k of the travelling wheels. A segment o is secured to the cross-piece h, and'a lever p with a pawl q to engage the teeth of the segment is secured to one of the arms n. The bearing d can be adjusted by means of the segment and lever p with relation to the wheels, and thus the depth of work is regulated.
