Abstract
15,314. Anderson, C. J. July 21, 1908, [Convention date]. Lacing-fastenings-A lacing-hook 10 is secured flatwise to the shoe by means of an eyelet 12 screwing on a stud 11 made integral with the hook, and is inclosed by a sheath to prevent damage to the trousers or skirt. The sheath comprises top and bottom plates 13, 14 secured together by a rivet 15 and rotatably mounted on the boss portion of the hook, the top plate having springs 16, 17 cut from its material and adapted to bear against the hook to maintain the sheath in position relative to the hook. When lacing-up, the sheath is swung aside by the lace until the latter is engaged in the hook, and then closes over the hook and lace, as shown in Fig. 8. A strut 21 may be provided at the open end of the sheath to maintain the two parts thereof apart. The sheath may be ornamented.
