Abstract

13,859. Aktiebolaget Separator. June 25, 1908, [Convention date]. Cream separators are provided with a device for preventing the sucking-in of vapour and froth from the collecting vessels for the separated liquids into the space surrounding the bowl. Vapour or froth from the bowl A or skim-milk collecting-vessel C are prevented from entering the casing B by providing vanes D, as shown. When the bowl rotates, the air in the annular space between the bowl and casing is set in rotary-motion, and an-excess of pressure arises at the periphery. The vanes D prevent rotation of the air at the top, whereby the increased pressure below sets up a permanent air-current upwards from the vessel, and froth and vapour cannot therefore enter.
