Abstract

Carriage stops.-The margin, tabulating, linelocking, and alarm stops 20 are each secured to a slotted sleeve 21, which may slide on a bar 18 secured at the top of a rack or perforated web 16. The stop is locked by means of a slotted sleeve 22, which may be rotated on the sleeve 21 by means of a finger 31 and is guided by a stud 23 which engages a groove 24. The sleeve 22 is formed with teeth 26 which are held by means of a spring 27 in mesh with the teeth 17 of the rack 16. The stop may be released by rotating the sleeve 22, the stop being then slid on the bar 18 and re-locked by releasing the finger 31. The bar 18 is provided with end. collars to prevent the stops from being slidden off. The stops 20 are each formed with a bevelled face 35 and a plain face 38 for engagement with the margin lever 36. Tha rack 16 may be secured to a bar 14 forming part of a platen mounting such as is described in Specification 13,226/07. Each margin stop is provided with a finger 32, which is arranged to read a scale 33 secured to the front of the upper edge of the paper-apron 8.
