Abstract
11,146. Emerick, G. S. May 11. Ball mills.-Tube or pebble mills are formed of a number of intercommunicating sections or compartments 1<1>, 1<2>, 1<3>, elliptical in cross-section and with the corresponding axes of successive sections angularly disposed so as to counterbalance the mill when in use. When two sections are employed, their major axes are separated by an angle of ninety degrees ; with three sections, the corresponding axes are separated by angles of sixty degrees. The sections are bolted together by their flanges 6, 7, and the mill is provided with a feed-inlet 4 and a discharge outlet 5.
