Abstract
9363. Wood, W. R. April 20. Grates.-In a travelling grate built up of boxlike sections, for instance as described in Specification 13,334/07, the ashes are caught at the rear end of the grate in the sections, carried to the front of the furnace, and there dumped. The sections 4 are trough-like or T-shaped in form, and, at the end of the grate, each acts as a receptacle for the ashes on the following section. In the lower lap of the grate the sections close together as shown, and the ashes are carried to the front to be dumped. The air supplying and controlling arrangements are identical with those described in the abovementioned Specification.
