Periscopes; stereoscopes; telescopes.-The eyelens is adapted to be inclined in any direction by the observer to bring the axis of the lens into alinement with any desired point of the image. The eye-lens a may be mounted in a fitting b with a spherical surface b' seating upon a cup-like part in a member c, springs being provided to retain the parts in contact. The member c is mounted in a tube e carrying the field-lens f. In binocular instruments, the eye-lenses are connected so that the axes are always parallel.
