Pasteboard casks etc.; heads. - A pasteboard receptacle is formed from a sheet of material provided with a number of embossed stiffening-ridges band having outwardlyprojecting end rims c, d, formed by suitable means when the material is in a moist state. In folding the pasteboard, the meeting edge k is inserted into a recessed part of the opposite edge, the parts being connected by suitable means such as rivets l. The top and bottom ends consist of flanged disks. The bottom end is attached by inserting its depending flange into a recess formed by the rim d, a toothed border attached to the rim d being turned over inside the flange, and the three parts being riveted together. The flange of the top end is inserted into a similar recess in the upper rim c, both parts having registering slits i, through which a thin iron band m is threaded to connect them. If desired, the pasteboard may be impregnated to render it waterproof and fireproof.
