Rollers; winding. - Wooden or like warp beams and batching, dye, jig, or other rollers are strengthened by inserting metal tubes or cores a, Fig. 1, through their axes, these tubes being screw-threaded externally to receive metal end disks or caps d, provided with flanges d<1> bedding on the turned-down ends of the rollers. The end supporting-pins e for the rollers are screwed into the internally-threaded caps, or into the internally-threaded ends of the tubes &c. Flanges f may be secured on the rollers, these flanges being each provided with two wedge-shaped and undercut projections f<1>, one at each end of the central hole in the flange, the projections engaging recesses h in two parts or halves which together constitute a clamping- disk g with an attached collar g<1>. These halves are bolted together to clamp the flange and the disk to the roller. As an additional safeguard, the parts f<1>, g may be secured together by clamping-screws, or, according to the Provisional Specification, by nuts and set-screws &c. secured to the parts f<1>.
