Abstract

8290. Boult, A. J., [Troy Laundry Machinery Co.]. April 6. Weighted - arm grips. - A gripping - device for suspending articles from a drying-chamber conveyer comprises a yoke 17 depending from a shank 10 formed on one of the chain links 12 and provided with travelling wheels 14. The yoke is formed with gripping-faces 18 and with arms 19, to which are pivoted weighted arms 22 formed with gripping-faces 24. The articles are released from between the faces 18, 24 by upwardly-extending arms 25 integral with the arms 22 engaging the double-inclined faces 27 of dumping-blocks 28. Spurs 41 are provided adjacent to the surfaces 18, 24 to prevent the articles from catching. The levers 25 are prevented from falling back too far by engaging the sides of the arms 19. In a modification, the fixed surfaces 18 are arranged at the ends of the arms 19, and the weighted levers are pivoted on the part 17. The faces 27 then extend inwards.
