Abstract

7248. Terry, A. E. March 26. [Addition to 1184/08.] Locking nuts.-In a nut-lock of the kind described in the parent Specification, the locking- spring 16 is held in the inoperative position by the cranked end 23 of a pin 22 engaging the free end 19 of the spring. The pin 22 is turned by means of a bent arm 24, which may be accommodated in a recess in the nut 13, and may have a projection 25 snapping into holes in the nut. In a modification, the pin 22 passes through a hole in the side of the nut, and the free end 19 of the spring 16 is bent up to facilitate engagement by the pin 22. The outer end of the pin may be shaped for operation by a key.
