4780. Peal, E. R., and Smyth, D. M. Bowyer-. Feb. 26. Right to Patent relinquished. Locking nuts.-In a nut-lock of the kind in which a spring coil b, placed in a recess in the nut and secured at one end c, grips the bolt when the nut tends to unscrew, the fore end d of the coil projects through a passage or slot e in the nut. When a spanner is applied to unscrew the nut, the end d is pushed into the passage e and the grip of the coil is relaxed. In a modification, the end d does not project outside the nut, but is engaged by a projection on the spanner which enters the passage e.
