2341. Panter, J. Feb. 1. Axle-caps.-An axle-cap for vehicle wheels is fitted with a spring-pressed plunger E, which forces grease to the bearing-surfaces through grooves G in the axle. The spring D is confined by a cap H. The cap A is screwed on to the axle-box B. The grooves G are tapered or otherwise designed to prevent. the grease from passing right through the hub.
