Abstract
1553. Steller, K. Jan. 21. Combining sheet material.-In machines for lining pasteboard, cardboard, &c. with paper, &c., the lining-sheet is allowed to absorb the adhesive before being applied to the pasteboard, &c., in order to avoid wrinkling. The sheets a pass from a table o round a pasting-roller b, and are carried by a travelling apron e to pressure rollers g, l which unite them to sheets m of pasteboard &c. fed from a table n. The length of the apron e is less than that of the lining-sheets, and the peripheral speed of the pressure rollers is greater than that of the pasting-roller, so as to tension the sheets between the pasting and pressure rollers. Other means for tensioning the sheets may be employed. The apron e is preferably elastic so that its length may be slightly varied by adjusting the position of the rollers g by means of a slide and screw k, i.
