Abstract

1328. Zbikowski, M. H., and Cohn, S. Jan. 19. Padlocks.-A padlock is formed to lie flat against the article fastened and without edges or projections, to render difficult its forcible removal. As shown in Fig. 2, as applied to double doors, the padlock is of hemispherical shape, is provided with a recess into which are adapted to take staple-plates e,f on the two leaves of the door. The bolt h is shot through the staples by means of a key. In the case of single doors, the lock is in the shape of a quarter-sphere, as shown in Fig. 5. The casing is cast in one solid piece, a box containing the lock mechanism being placed within the mould before the molten metal is poured in. The staple-plates e, f may be secured by a seal before being-locked.
