Electro-magnetic switches.-A relay C for use in an equalizing system having a booster and a buffer battery consists of a lever 39, operated by a winding 40 placed in shunt with a resistance 29, and a lever 33 operated by one of the windings 37, 37<a> placed across the leads 46, 47. The lever 39 carries a contact 44 adapted to engage with the fixed contacts 45, 45<a> and a contact 38 adapted to engage with the contacts 32, 32<a> mounted upon the spring- controlled lever 33. The movement of the core 41 operating the lever 39 is steadied by a dash-pot 42, and its weight is partly counterbalanced by a weight 43.
