Soaps.-A pumice-stone soap is made by saponifying a mixture of tallow, cotton-seed oil, and, it may be, resin, with caustic lye by mixing the ingredients in the heated state and then allowing the mixture to stand and cool for about 24 hours, then breaking up the resulting mass and boiling it with a suitable quantity of water, and finally adding the pumice-stone, and, if desired, glycerine, scent, or colouring-matter.
