Abstract

24,728. Smith, J. J., and Smith, W. E. Nov. 17. Hammocks.-In order to preserve the shape of trough-shaped hammocks formed of canvas suspended by means of eyelets b engaged by hooks c, cords f are arranged in hems e at the edges of the fabric terminating in ringa f<1> which are engaged by the hooks c. In the modification shown in the lower part of Fig. 2, the cord f is first passed outwardly through an eyelet e<1> and then back to the upper side of the hammock through an eyelet e<2>. In the form shown in the upper portion of Fig. 2, only one eyelet e<1> is employed and the ring f<1> engages the hook c on the under surface of the hammock. Other modifications may be made in the arrangements of the eyelets through which the cords f pass.
