Abstract

Net floats and buoys.- An inner bag a, Fig. 2, of air-tight rubber fabric &c. is enclosed in a waterproof cover d of leather, proofed or painted calico, &c., which is secured by wire or cord to the head c in the usual way. The bag a is provided with a non-return air valve b, which is of the rubbersleeve type and is fitted in a hole in the head c. The upper put a<1> of the bag a is preferably caused to adhere to the underside of the head c by means of an adhesive. A modified form of valve, shown in Fig. 3, consists of a mushroom-shaped head e and a stem f, which fits loosely in a hole g in the head c, a bellows being applied to the hole for the purpose of inflating the bag. The valve e is pressed upwards by a strip of rubber h. The valve shown in Fig. 4 comprises a flanged tube k fitted into the head c and having a peripheral bead l adapted to pinch the bag a against the head c, thus holding it in place. An inner tube m is provided with a rubber lip valve n and a screw cap o.
