(AREA)
Abstract
24,241. Soc. d'ElectricitÚ Nilmollor. Dec. 16, 1907, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Gas and like engines, igniting in. The condensers of magnetos for ignition in explosion engines are mounted on the armatures, either between the windings and core or else in a cavity in the core. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the condenser 2, 3 is arranged in two parts on each side of the central member 1 of the shuttle armature. It may be arranged on one side only or longitudinally under the edges of the pole pieces A. In the form shown in Fig. 4, a cavity 8 in the armature core 1 contains the condenser 7, the openings being closed by plugs 9, 10. Condensers when thus mounted to rotate with the armature, are preferably used in combination with the contact-breaker described in Specification No. 6162, A.D. 1908, [Abridgment Class Electricity, Regulating &c.].
