This invention relates to casings and parts for electric generators and particularly magneto generators commonly used for ignition systems for internal combustion engines An object of the invention is'topro'vide simple, cheap and 'efiicient casings' for the working parts of the generator easily'p'roduced and easily replaced in case of damage,

A further object is to provide a generator wherein the insulating casings such as the collector, distributor and other parts subjected to high voltage are of simple and rigid construction. j

This frame also carries four pole pieces of the usual type, two of whichare shown at 25, 26 These pole piecesv extend through to the outer surface of the frame and contact with the magnets 23, 23a, and form the inner faces of the circular bores 27, 28 for the armatures of the magneto generator. Concentric with these boresare the slightly larger bores 29, 30 to give the ends of the armature additional clearance, and concentric with 29, 30 are the slightly larger bores 31, 32 for gears attached to the armatures for driving the same. v
The bore 33 is provided in which to mount a bearing for the shaft 8 and the bore 34 to provide a space for a gear on said shaft which engages the gear in 32. i
The front end of the frame is provided with apertures 35, 36 and bores 37, 38 In the latter are mounted the outer ball races 39, 40 of the bearings for the armatures.
An oil cup 41 is provided having a duct 42 connecting with the race 39 and a similar cup 41a and duct (not shown) is provided for oiling the race 40. An oil cup 43 and ducts 44, My are provided to admit oil to the ducts 4:46, 44k in the end plate, Figure 20, and from these ducts the oil flows to the bearing therein. 1. In an electric generator, a base having a projecting portion forming a bearing support, a frame having two armature bores therein, and means on said bearing support and frame for securing said members together. V

8. In combination with a main frame having two parallel armature bores therein and an end portion forming bearing supports, collector casings of insulating material adapted to be mounted on said end portion and to close the open ends of said frame.
