[Patent of Addition to No. 11,958, A.D. 1907.] Loom shuttles ; weavers' tools.-In a shuttle provided with a device to facilitate threading, such as is described in Specification No. 11,958, A.D. 1907, a bushing 4, Fig. 1, is secured within the thread eye by a pin 7, which passes through the body of the shuttle and a recess in the bushing. Towards the side farther from the cop, the bushing has a longitudinal slot 41, Fig. 5, extending throughout a part of its length, and circumferential slots 42, 43 extend from the ends of the slot 41 around the underside of the bushing to the side nearer the cop. A further slot 44 extends from the slot 43 to the outer end of the bushing, and is not in line with the slot 41. At the outer end, the bore of the bushing is enlarged to enable a tool to be inserted for setting the bushing, the tool having a fin to engage the slot 41. In threading the shuttle, the weft is passed along a passage 3 and through a slot 5, so that it is raised in the slot 42 and is worked up through the slot 41 until it reaches the slot 43. The weft is deflected thereby and emerges through the slot 44, which is situated behind a vertical pin 8 and is covered thereby, so that the weft is prevented from re-entering the slot.
