Conductors.-A places where it may be required to reveree the direction of the cars, an off set portion or section parallel to the track for some distance is provided in the conductor whereby the trolly pole is carried out at right-angles to the vehicle, so that when the vehicle is reversed the trolly pole assumes a trailing position. Fig. 1 shows one form of the arrangement with a fixed off-set conductor b, while Fig. 2 shows a modified arrangement in which the part b is adapted to move parallel to the track so as to adjust itself automatically to the varying lengths of trolly poles. The movable section b is free to slide in brackets o which can slide on the sections p of the conductor. The brackets o are normally maintained against stops by the springs s, and are also adapted to act as frogs for carrying the collector from the wires p to the part b, and vice versa.
