Signs.-In a brilliant sign for use as a facia, stall plate, advertising-tablet, &c., the letters are cut in the face of a block 1 of wood &c., and are lined with pieces of silvered glass 2 arranged edge to edge, and at an angle to one another. The letters are protected from dust and rain by an outer casing comprising a glass pane 3, a frame 5, and a back plate 4. The pane 3 or the part of the block 1 not covered by letters may be painted, coloured, or varnished, and a gilded or coloured line 6 may be painted on the pane to hide the edges of the letters. The silvered glass may be embossed, or otherwise decorated.
