Abstract

Locks, key; latches.-The latch bolt d is housed in the cylindrical hole a bored in the edge of the door, the nose d' being guided by a socket piece e, and is operable by a follower g acting on a fork f, screwed on to the end of the bolt and located in a transverse cylindrical hole c. The spring i bears against a plate i<1> placed in the enlarged part of the boring a. The locking-mechanism is contained in a cylinder held in position by nozzles n and nuts j<1> screwed into the woodwork, and comprises two bolts k, k<1> together forming a sleeve through which the latch bolt passes. The bolts k, k<1> are operated to engage the shoulder k<2> on the latch bolt by revolving disks m<1> adapted to be turned by a key, each bolt working independently of the other and being operable from one side only. The two parts of the sleeve may be in one piece, so that the locking-mechanism may be operated from either side of the door.
