Abstract

14,078. Tangring, O. Oct. 4, 1907, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Wire ropes or cables for use on derricks and other lifting work in connexion with mining, quarrying, building, bridge construction, &c. are formed with an inner series of strands 2 wound in one direction and an outer seiies of strands 4 wound around the inner series in the opposite , direction, each strand being formed of a number of wires. The wires of the inner strands have the same lay as their strands, while the wires of the outer strands have the opposite lay to their strands. [Reference has been directed under Section 7 of Patents &c. Act, 1907, to Specification No. 11,226, A.D. 1906.]
