9875. Pohl, C. May 6. Moulding slabs. -Fibro-cement slahs or plates are formed by strewing fibrous material and a binding-medium, either separate or mixed or partly separate and partly mixed, upon a moistened conveyer band. The fibrous material is treated in a carding-machine 1, and is carried over a band 2 to a distributing-roller 3 from which it passes to an endless conveyer band 4. Cement and sand are mixed with waste fibres in a mixer 5 aud the mixture passes on to the distributing-roller 3. The conveyer 4 is moistened by passing through a reservoir 6, and after receiving the layer of material, the material is enclosed by a second endless conveyer 7 and carried through a trough 8 and between pressing-rollers 9, the finished sheet being delivered at 11. When desired, a layer of colouring- material may be first distributed upon the conveyer 4 from a mixer 14. The conveyers 4, 7 are covered by two additional bands 12, 13, to facilitate the compression of the sheet, and to prevent the sheet from adhering to the band 4, which is passed over a bar 17 at the discharge end.
