Counting-apparatus.-A counting-apparatus connected with the rollers of a spinning, roving, or like machine indicates the number of gross of yarn spun, and a wheel p is connected with either of the gear wheels of the counter so that an adjustable stop v on the same axis as the wheel p may actuate the stop-gear of the machine after a determined length has been wound. The first counter wheel g is geared with the rollers so that one revolution represents one gross, and one revolution of each other counter wheel g<1>, g<2>, g<3> represents ten, one hundred, and one thousand gross, respectively. The wheel p is held in gear with either of the gear wheels by hinged fingers q<1>. The stop v is adjusted in the graduation on a wheel u, which corresponds to the length to be wound and the zero mark set opposite the stop-lever of the machine. A stop f<1> is turned back so that the wheels may be slid along their shaft and disengage from their fellows when resetting them. The front and top of the casing are hinged and secured by catches. In the Provisional Specification it is stated that the wheel p is splined on its shaft ; and that the counter wheels may be connected with their gear wheels so as to rotate with them in one direction only, and thus to be capable of being turned back independently when resetting.
