Abstract

5028. Kafka, C. F. March 5. Pessaries.-A pessary is moulded to the exact shape of the cervix uteri of the actual wearer. The cervix is exhibited in the speculum and a mould is taken in plaster of Paris contained in an instrument as shown in Fig. 1. The pessary may be made closed and fitting at all points, or an aperture a for drainage, and an enlargement b to contain medicament may be provided. In a modification of the closed type, a small enlargement is provided for containing an absorbent.
