4595. Powell, C., and Renwick, J. Feb. 29. Stays.-Relates to improved means for securing the lids of boxes in the open position, and is designed more particularly for wooden confectionery boxes. The support or stay a is of thin sheet metal and its free end is enlarged and notched at b. Two notches may be made if it is desired to hold the cover e in two positions. The stay is connected to the box by a long flat-headed pin d, so that it may be turned into the position shown in dotted lines when the box is closed. The strip may be of wire.
