Abstract
3498. Shultz, W. L. Feb. 16, 1907, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Bottles, non-refillable.-A bottle neck is contracted at 13, Fig. 1, to form a seating for a valve 14, which is limited in its movement by wires 20. These wires are made of spring metal and pass through slits 18 in the valve at right-angles to one another, engaging in a groove 12. In addition to the above valve, a float valve 26 and weight 28 are arranged, as shown, in a guide 24, which forms a seating at 25. The guide surrounds the end of the valve 14 and is retained in place by a cork or other washer 23. In a modification, Fig. 2, the guide 24 is dispensed with, and the wires 20 are brought lower to carry a ring 34 which confines and guides the weight 32 on to the valve 31 so that the bottle cannot be filled by slightly tilting it.
