Abstract
2698. Denolly, G. E. H., and MontrÚal, R. de. Sept. 11, 1907, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Stoppers, drop-delivery and like.-A drop-delivery stopper is so arranged that it is unnecessary to form a groove in the interior of the bottle neck, or to alter the position of the stopper in the neck to discharge the contents. The stopper B is provided with two diametrically opposite grooves b, c, the smaller groove b serving for pouring out the liquid, while air enters at the larger groove c. The grooves are connected by a transverse perforation d provided at the lower end of the discharge passage e, which terminates at its upper end in a lip f. The passage e is normally closed by a small ground-in stopper C. In a modification, Fig. 6, the stopper is covered by a washer a<1> of cork in which the air-admission groove c is formed. In a further modification, the air-admission groove is omitted, and a single groove in the body of the stopper communicates with the outflow passage.
