Ignition Installations For Internal Combustion Engines
(AREA)
Abstract
325. Sanders, R. W., and Greenberg, M. Jan. 6. Switches.-In an induction coil designed to have a very rapid make and break, and primarily for use for ignition purposes in internal-combustion engines, the armature c is disposed between two electromagnets d, d<1>, energized by the primary current. The contacts e, e' are so connected up that, when b makes contact with e, the current passes through the coil d<1>, and, when b makes contact with e<1>, the current passes through the coil d, thus producing a rapid make and break in the primary circuit of the coil a.
